The sound of progress
Introduced in the early 19th century, the concept of progress has since then defined the idea of development of an action "towards the better", suggesting a path for humanity and a meaning to history.
Today, confronted with the planet's limits and the irreversible impact of its actions on ecosystems, mankind must rethink advancements in technology, science, and social organization to continue improve human condition.
In a world increasingly driven by global noise and immediacy, a revived sound of progress must remain the ultimate chord of sustainable human development.

A sustainable vision for challenging times
The first moments of the new decade were cause for concern. There is no doubt that the environment created by the pandemic, war or climate risk is a breeding ground for division and withdrawal.
However, today it appears they will become formidable catalysts for sustainable development. Never before has the mobilisation to think, innovate and finance projects that will positively affect the world of tomorrow been so great, so dynamic and so lively. It is more than welcome: nothing should distract us from the need to act, both on our own and collectively.
To discuss this upwelling of hope, join us in Brussels, the heart of a Europe focused on building a sustainable future. As usual, we will welcome internationally renowned personalities and together, we hope to draw the outlines of this common vision.

Mr. Paul Krugman, recipient of the 2008 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, shared his views that inflation is not yet rooted in the psychology of economic agents.
